The Bloomington Bison have partnered with EMPowerplay to host the inaugural Ball Hockey Mania Tournament on October 16, 17 and 18 outside of Grossinger Motors Arena as a part of Fan Fest 2026.

The event is presented by Blooming Tree Wealth Management and Chestnut Health Systems, and each registrant will receive a ticket to Opening Night on Saturday, October 17 included with registration! All participants are guaranteed three ball hockey games.

All skill levels and abilities are welcome, and the tournament will be divided into different age brackets. Each player must have a helmet and a stick, and gear will be provided by EMPowerplay for registrants who do not have their own equipment.

In addition to an Opening Night ticket, participants will receive a jersey to keep and a swag bag with items from EMPowerplay, the Bison and local Bison partners.

Beginning at 3 p.m. on Friday, October 16, a Learn To Play session will commence, followed by Round Robin games on Saturday, October 17 from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. and a full slate of playoffs and the championship game on Sunday, October 18 from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Individual “free agents” can register for just $50 per player or teams of up to 10 registrants can sign up for $500. Championship medals will be awarded to the winners of each group.

The second day of the tournament coincides with the Bison’s Fan Fest 2026, which will take place from 4-6 p.m. and culminate with Opening Night on Saturday, October 17.
