Bloomington, Ill. – Carolina Hurricanes Associate General Manager and Chicago Wolves General Manager Darren Yorke announced today that the Carolina Hurricanes have reassigned goaltender Yaniv Perets from the Wolves to the Bloomington Bison.
Perets, 24, appeared in one NHL game with the Hurricanes this season on November 30 against the Florida Panthers. He made seven saves on eight shots in 8:12 of time in net. Perets also skated in four games with the Wolves posting a 1-2-1 record with a .846 save percentage and a 3.93 goals against average.
The Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Quebec native briefly appeared with the Hurricanes last season in 12:46 of ice time. Additionally, he dressed in 34 ECHL games with the Norfolk Admirals collecting a 18-11-3 record with a .889 save percentage and a 2.99 goals against average.
The 6-foot-1, 181-pound goaltender amassed a 56-9-5 record in 74 career NCAA games with Quinnipiac University. He registered a .935 save percentage with a 1.34 goals against average. Perets is a three-time ECAC regular season champion, two-time Top Collegiate Player (Hobey Baker Award) Finalist, named twice to the NCAA (EAST) Second All-American Team, named twice to the ECAC First All-Star Team, two-time ECAC Goaltender of the Year, and 2022-23 NCAA Championship winner.
The Bison will hold the franchise’s first Teddy Bear Toss on December 14 at 7p.m. at Grossinger Motors Arena. Following the Bison’s first goal of the game, fans are encouraged to toss new or gently used stuffed animals to the ice that will be collected and donated to local charities. The first 1,000 fans in the arena will receive a Bison-themed Santa hat.
