Forwards Killian Kiecker-Olson and Tyler Young Join Bison

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Bloomington Bison Head Coach and VP of Hockey Operations Phillip Barski announced today that the team has signed forwards Killian Kiecker-Olson and Tyler Young to standard player contracts for the 2026-27 season.

Kiecker-Olson, 25, made his professional debut on March 6 with the Norfolk Admirals after completing collegiate play with Canisius University. The Andover, Minnesota native set personal bests in goals, assists and points in his senior season, recording 26 points (8g-18a) and earning a spot on the AHA’s Third All-Conference Team. In 10 ECHL games he has tallied four assists.

The 6-foot-1, 194-pound center played the last three seasons at Canisius after one year at the University of Maine and amassed 41 points (14g-27a) in 102 career NCAA Division-I games.

Prior to joining the college hockey ranks, Kiecker-Olson played Junior hockey in the United States Hockey League and North American Hockey League. In 103 career USHL games he scored 25 goals and recorded 48 points, and he amassed 77 points (29g-48a) in 96 career NAHL games.

Young, 25, transferred to the University of North Dakota from Merrimack College before the start of last season and registered 12 points (5g-7a) in 32 games during his senior year. In 87 career NCAA Division-I games, he tallied 23 points (11g-12a).

The 6-foot-1, 179-pound Lancaster, Massachusetts product played Junior hockey in the USHL, NAHL, British Columbia Hockey League and National Collegiate Development Conference. Young spent the entire 2019-20 season with the BCHL’s Wenatchee Wild, with whom he amassed 37 points (9g-28a) in 56 games, before beginning the following two seasons in the USHL.

Altogether, Young notched three goals, two assists and 51 penalty minutes in 27 USHL games and 26 points (13g-13g) and 84 penalty minutes in 35 NAHL games prior to his Merrimack debut.
