Messier, Monsef Promoted Ahead of 2026-27 Season

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Bloomington Bison Head Coach and VP of Hockey Operations Phillip Barski announced today that Jesse Messier has been promoted to Associate Coach and Parsa Monsef has been promoted to Assistant Coach. Additionally, Dan Larmer, Josh Pentico, Matt Borucki, Chad Letterle and Zack Grether have all agreed to extensions.

“Jesse has done an outstanding job for our organization,” said Barski. “He is detailed, prepared, and has continued to grow in every area. He has earned this promotion, and I am excited to see him take on a larger leadership role with our staff.”

Messier has been a part of the Bison coaching staff since the team’s inaugural season and will continue to play a key role in the development of its players and the daily standard of hockey operations.

Monsef served as the team’s video coach and made a strong impact in his first season with the team.

“Parsa has earned this opportunity through his work ethic, preparation and commitment to our players,” said Barski. “He has been a major part of what we are building in Bloomington, and this promotion reflects the trust and confidence we have in him.”

Larmer will return for his third year as Director of Scouting, Pentico will return for his third year as Head Equipment Manager, Matt Borucki will return for his third year as Head Athletic Trainer, Letterle returns for his second season as Strength and Conditioning Coach and Grether will return for his second season as Assistant Equipment Manager.

“I am extremely proud and grateful to be returning so many great people to our staff,” said Barski. “Dan, Josh, Matt, Chad and Zack each play an important role in the day-to-day operation of our team. Their professionalism, commitment and work behind the scenes are a big part of our organization, and we are very fortunate to have them continuing with us.”
